HBO Max Green Lantern Corp series to feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart

Green Lantern will finally have his brightest day.

After the commercial and critical failure of the Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds, the emerald hero sadly lost his potential to become a live-action force. Even his presence in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie was booted out of its existence.

I was the first to scoop the Green Lantern TV series on HBO Max several months ago, and I have received new information about the Greg Berlanti big-budget project.

The two main Green Lanterns in the program will be Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Fans had been trying to guess if it was Kyle Rayner or Guy Gardner as Jordan may have been unavailable, reserved for a cinematic reboot. But that’s not the case. They’re holding off on a theatrical movie for now.

The series will have a more serious tone than the box-office flop, owing greatly in style and atmosphere to Geoff Johns’ run on the character in DC Comics, especially Rebirth and The Sinestro Corps War.
